Fireworks

I’m all for fireworks. They are indisputably just beautiful. And I think fire has something to do with its appeal. I have seen two firework shows in Georgia so far. And although they both initially made me excited, after the first two explosions, I started to fear for my life and hope not to end up on youtube or Tosh.O.

I guess the reasoning is, “Tragedy hasn’t happened yet, so why fix what ain’t broke.”  …famous last words if I ever heard any.

They have an uncanny knack for placing the fireworks launch pad super close to the crowd. As if the launching method is just as important and on display as the actual bursting of the fireworks high overhead.

Fireworks at the Concert

I really wanted to run and tell someone… anyone about the inherent danger and peril we were all in. But short of that, all I could do is resign myself to just watch and enjoy the show.

“You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ’em what you’re worth
Make ’em go, oh
As you shoot across the sky”
