Photuris Pyralis

I was taking a walk with Lado, Nika and another friend to the park at dusk yesterday. We took the usual path through an abandoned children’s hospital property. The yard is moderately grown over with weeds and rubble. As I turned the corner, the spark of the lighning bugs startled me for a second, then filled me with the deepest and giddiest  joy. I LOVE lightning bugs. They symbolize the happiest times of my childhood and to me are the silent announcers of summertime.
